I need some verification please.

I'm currently on 1.1.4 pwned 1st gen iphone. I have at&t service, and windows xp.

I've downloaded cosmos custom firmware. Now all i do is put it into dfu and restore to his firmware, correct?

Also since i have at&t service will everything still [service,edge,voicemail,etc] work since his firmware unlocks it.

And if all is successful can i restore to my backup?

One last question to does it matter what itunes i have installed in my situation???

Put it in DFU Mode and restore. You can restore from your backup when done. You may need 7.7 but you can try an older version.

If you get a error 6 this is due to you not being in proper DFU mode.

Entering DFU Mode:

Turn iphone off.
Press and hold-down both the Power and Home buttons.
Release the Power button after 10 seconds exactly. The screen goes blank
Release the Home button after 10 seconds exactly. The screen is still blank

Then restore

I can't get it into DFU.

it just goes into regular recovery mode.

then i have to restore to regular 2.0

i even tried using the ziphone application to put it into DFU and it just went into regular recovery.

-I wonder what would happen if I downgrade my iPhone 3g to 1.1.4, Pwn it, and then load your custom firmware. Would my gps and everything else still work since I am a legit AT&T customer?-

fire up iTunes
Plug phone in, keeping the phone on
Press and hold power and home keys for 10 seconds.
Release power key, keep holding home button until iTunes tells you it needs to be restored.
Screen will remain black.

In itunes, hold the option key and click on restore. Select the file and your done.
