True. In America it just sucks that AT&T has a 5 year deal with Apple. I've had T-Mobile and never have a reception issue, my friends on AT&T are always frustrated. More bars in more places, yeah right!

Unless you travel, there is no use for an unlocked iPhone 3G bought in the USA. T-Mobile's upcoming 3G network will not be compatible.

I'm stoked! Fellow Tmobile peeps, our 3G coverage rolls out on October 1st! I've also heard that the iPhone 3G may work with tmobiles 3G despite the different frequencies because of the phones built in chip, I will find a link and post it shortly.

I would of thought that once the iPhone 3G is unlocked it will work on any 3G network. Its a piece or hardware that is sold the world over in different countries and on different providers all using their own frequencies. So I'm sure the iPhone 3G will work fine on the Tmobile network in the US, the hardware is designed to work on all kinds of frequencies.

So installer.app and summerboard have been recompiled and rewritten for 2.0? Someone please correct me if I am wrong but I think not. That's why I'm holding off before upgrading to 2.0, I've seen no evidence of all the apps I have on 1.1.4 working on 2.0

I was really hoping to take my new 3g iphone with me on a trip to Europe so i can buy a prepaid sim card there and use it, unfortunately it doesnt look like thats going to be a possibility b/c im leaving this sunday

Good try. If you cancel the service before 30 days you WILL have to return the phone. If you do not, your service WILL NOT be cancelled! They will continue to bill you for services. This has already been posted multiple times.

No, it has not been recompiled to work with 2.0 that I know of, BUT it only means that now that it is jailbroken, we just have to wait for them to release it so they can start working on Summerboard. oh yeah, White iPhone 3G for the win.
