Great Info. Much Better than a "iPhone 4 Dummies". Apple Style.
Thanks.

They can be a great people, Kal-El, they wish to be.
They only lack the light to show the way.
For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you... my only son.

Great review!
Anyone know if there is a way to turn off the 3G antenna, to just use the 2g for voice if you're not going to be using data for a while? My understanding is that they quoted longer talk-times for 2G and that the 3G runs the battery faster, so I'm wondering if there is a softswitch to use only 2G to save battery (kind of like turning off the wifi on the original iPhone).

Does SMS allow you to add more recipients to a previous mass txt now because in 1.1.3 it did not?
Thx Star

Thanks for the review! Overall, the 3G is a hit!! One thing Apple missed was a "Select All" delete function for emails.......... that would be nice. Maybe the next update will have it.

Really nice review, PF, thanks.
A couple of things I didn't see mentioned:
• Syncing is snail-slow if you have a lot of apps installed. What I did to solve this, was to disable application syncing in iTunes, and then reinstall all the apps via the AppStore from the phone itself. Now syncing is zippy again.
• Contacts now has a Search bar.
• Calendar now supports multiple calendars!
• .wav files can now be played! This means that you can have Vonage forward your voicemails, and you will now be able to play them directly out of Mail. Nice! Yes, I know some .wav files were supported before, but not the ones from Vonage. I just tested and it's not that Vonage has switched formats...they still don't play under 1.1.4 firmware.Last edited by DaveiPhone; 07-15-2008 at 01:56 PM.
