Hopefully I'm allowed to link, (If not I'm sorry.)because I came across this, if anyone made the unfortunate mistake of upgrading. I can't attest that it works, as I'm way too scared to update.

Slade, I noticed you thanked me. Are you having the same problem? I'm trying desperately to fix this. I thought DFU mode would work. Apparently not

Well you should be able to plug your iphone in, hit update, it'll start downloading the new firmware. At that time there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to unplug your phone while it is still dl'ing 2.0. I used to do that all the time with 1.1.x so I could use my phone while it was getting the new software.

I think I had to wake the phone up with ibrickr, but don't remember why. Should this method not work here also? That way you wouldn't get a 4 hour brick, you'd just let itunes Dl the software while you are unplugged from it.

There is nothing we can do, but your devices are not permanently bricked. They are downloading and restoring the firmware correctly, but the servers are not allowing us to activate the phones regardless of if they are the 3g or the original. The problem is that Apple's servers blow and Apple in return sucks to try to even out the blowing.

As soon as the load on the servers decreases, or Apple's intelligence quota increases, you will be able to activate again.

So does the current version on the pwnage tool (1.1) work with the final FW 2.0? Looks like people are getting it to work.
