So here's a crazy question: I'm on Fido/Rogers. Since they are the partner for Canada, I'm wondering if a CLEAN install of 2.0 would accept my Fido SIM as valid on my previously unlocked 1st Gen iPhone.

I got my phone activated in store, but now i'm receiving an error message saying i'm not authorized to copy apps over onto my iPhone. wtf mate?

Same thing happend to me yesterday. In itunes you have to click the advanced tab than choose to "authroize this computer" than you should be good to go

I read through some old apple blogs. Some one suggested running the flush DNS command. It worked for me. At the command line type ipconfig /flushdns

Holy crap this worked after I've been clicking back and forth for like an hour.

I've wondered the same thing...but I don't think it works that way otherwise someone could have boughten one from AT&T and then used it on Orange without unlocking. Besides, who cares when there will be an unlock solution the same time as jailbreak...and waiting a few days sometimes can be a very very smart move.

I waited in line for 6 hours. I got my white 16gb this morning. I came home, plugged it up and it activated on the second try. But it won't let me sync anything to it. I can still make calls though.

Well, like everyone else I got my 16GB white iphone not activated still in box, took it home and it wouldn't work. I closed itunes and went ahead and ran an ipconfig /flushdns (like someone suggested) and then hooked back up and it activated OK. I had been unpluggin replugging mine for about an hour before that. Just FYIing.
