The official iPhone 2.0 Firmware is available through iTunes 7.7. now ....
but do not upgrade, just download it and wait .....

I am also unfortunate to think as it was unlocked it would still work when I upgraded and I also thought as it's easy to reinstall the firmware I could downgrade but as I only reflashed 1.1.4 to itself I didnt realise it wouldnt downgrade so easily.
I now have an expensive brick thats about to find its way out the window and a Dopod will soon find my pocket as thats a HEAPS better phone.

If Apple do come to thier sences and unlock the phone to its full potential then they will finally have a winner but till then its a crappy brick thats not worth it.
I'm actually upset I traded this for a xbox360 as I got ripped off bigtime. What a letdown.

Yea, the iPhone does have a lot of potential to be the best phone on the market but Apple have locked it up tighter than a nuns ...., or a dolphins ***, or a tin can, or whatever, you get it.

Oh, you think a Dopod isnt as good as iPhone? well Today I upgraded iTunes to 7.7 and resync'd the iPhone and my calender and contacts got deleted from Outlook. Thanks to my Pocket PC for keeping a backup I now have it all back. This happens all the time. Thats IF the iPhone syncs in the first place. Some App stops the iPhone from sync'ing lately. It locks up and reboots itself.

Well, this looks like about 4 posts in 1. I had to get this frustration out somewhere and this is where it came out.

Anyone want a iPhone? Will trade for Dopod or throw it at someones head. Either one will be worth it. As long as this crappy phone is gone I will be happy.

Oh yea, Dev's awesome work for jailbreaking it so quickly. Next thing is release it so we all can enjoy it.

Seriously people, stop asking when it is going to be released, they are smart fellas on the Dev team and they know what is going on! It'll be out before we know it, i mean, look how long it took to confirm jailbreak/unlock!

And i agree, installer has been there for me always, well except for those occassions where i need something quick and BAM

I was at the mall this morning, and near the apple store, these 2 nerds got into a fight, because one had the g2, and the other nerd had a g3. They were going at how each one was better, honestly, picture Milhouse Vs. Comic book guy, it was hilarious.

"My iPhone is better, it has faster internet"

"No, mine's better, I dont have to buy a plan"

man these nerds had the worst come back lines ever, even the mall security stopped and laughed there ***'s off at them.

Then..I walked by the nerds as I was getting on the subway to work and said.."My iPhone is better" - hahha, they went nuts.

edit guys to view appstore via mobile itunes on ur computer set ur region to india (or any other country that doesnt have itunes music store) sync and open up that bad boy

Use Opera. It has an auto refresh built it. Mine's set at 5 mins :P
Also if I close the browser and reopen it, it opens the pages I had open already and keeps refreshing at the interval I set it at.

Oh, and with the skins and customizations it looks heaps better than FireFox or IE
I've also tested and found Opera to also be the fastest. Thats why I've used it for over 7 years now.

Firefox 3 blows Opera out of the water, and does everything you mentioned and more.

Opera is the king of browsers and requires no silly plug-ins to be useful.
