Can't wait for the unlocked version, but is there still any reason we need to jailbreak it besides emulators? Sure a lot of apps are going to cost money but they are starting to do that on the jailbreaks.
I guess I will just sit here patiently NOT playing monkey ball. :'(

i see alot of bricked iphones in the near future.
everyone askin how to download 2.0,
when you brick your phone,
sell it to me!!!! lmao
eventually there will be a method to unbrick it!
but you guys wont wait, will you?
just sell it and brick another one.
learn to search guys, damn!
or at least learn to read.
and damnit, jailbreak is not the same as unlock!!!!!!!!!
jailbreak is so u can change files on the iphone!
geeeeeez!
u must have jailbreak.
it already has been done!
unlock is all we need for the sim to work.
i think i am gonna have a stroke!Last edited by tattoojack; 07-10-2008 at 11:27 AM.

Just did the upgrade to 2.0
-Standard AT&T customer
-Jailbroken 1.1.4 as the starting point
-Restore process to 2.0
-Said it failed,
-Restarted and connected to iTunes
-iTunes requested to Restore it
-Restarted and it's fine and running 2.0
Interesting things:
-I had use Make It Mine to change the service name - that setting seems to have stuck, so maybe the failure didn't completely wipe - or the Restore that I had to do at the end put those settings back in place
-Also, not sure if it's new to 2.0, but had run the App from Installer to show Contacts in Springboard - they still show now. Again, not sure if it's a mistake from my Restore process, or if it's supposed to be there
-Set up Exchange - worked perfectly - only concern is that if I choose to Sync calendars it says it has to wipe all calendars - does this mean I can only have Exchange or iCal, but not both? Going to try setting up Exchange and then Sync again to see if it will add mine back in....
Thanks for the info!

LOL - I got thanked for my blunt and sarcastic answer.
Things that have been covered so far in this thread.
1.) Firmware 2.0 is released by manual update
2.) No public broadcast of how to jailbreak/unlock, although there are photos here
3.) Downgrading back to 1.1.X is a whore, so don't attempt to upgrade to 2.0 if you are not an AT&T customer.
4.) Upgrading will DELETE everything on your phone. Sync before you upgrade.

with the app store up now, are the mods going to make new forums for app store apps? macrumors already has... it would be handy to keep them separated before people start posting too much about these new apps.

So...This Hasn't Been Asked Yet....Will Upgrading To 2.0 Fix Tha Horrid "No Baseband/Wifi" Issue?...I Mean Since It Completely Wipes And Reprograms Everything

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
