how do i make it show the news page like the full site does instead of straight to forums?

and when i click "modmyi.com"
at the top of the page it goes back to the original forums page not the new one.

Also - I just realized, if you're not seeing our webclip icon, you may have the same ZiPhone issue.

Run

Quote:
chown mobile:wheel /var/mobile/Library/WebClips/
From Terminal or SSH to fix.

If its going back to the original style, and you used ZiPhone to jailbreak, your cookies are not working.

Try running

Quote:
chown mobile:wheel /var/mobile/Library/Cookies/
chown mobile:wheel /var/mobile/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist
from Terminal on your iPhone or via SSH to your iPhon

Yeah the new forums work great on my phone, but I used ZiPhone and the frontpage didnt. I tried running those 2 lines about the cookies, rebooted and it didnt work. Seems kind of weird that the forums are fine but the frontpage isnt. Just a heads up...

Which URL are you referring to? /cmps_index.php? That shouldn't be able to be viewed from iPhone unless you manually input the URL - visiting modmyi.com from the iPhone should bring you right to the iPhone style.

I go to ht*tp://www.modmyi.com (forget the *) on my iPhone and then it redirects me to cmps_index.php and loads the home computer version although when I go to the forums whether I type in the URL or tap on the forums icon, that is set up just fine...

Your cookies definitely aren't working if you navigate away from the page and see the old style again.
Poetic folly,

thanks for your tips and your work.

At any rate, I never used Ziphone. My current unlock/jailbreak is with Pwnage. It's possible that my cookies don't work, but i think there may be a re-direct page issue here

Also, let me clarify that the Webclips work. Indeed, I have a beautiful MMI webclip on my home screen made a long time ago when MMI offered only the 'classical' style. It's only now with the new style that when I add to my home screen, I get as webclip only the screenshot (I hope you know what I am talking about...)

edit: effing sweet, i jus manually input [http://www.modmyi.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew] minus the brackets that i seen from using a computer and it show'd up on my ifone in the new layout and it looks awesome and easy to move around thru.

good job poetic

Webclips fixed.

Why make a mobile version? Because iPhone has a great browser, sure, but we designed this site for a 1024x768 or larger resolution. Squeeze all that crap into 320x480 (smaller, in fact, with the Safari buttons and iPhone status bar at top) and you suddenly need needle sized fingers to press the links you want.

Suggestions:

Can the icons for each thread link to "last viewed post" and can we get some way of quoting?
