AT&T had already been rumored, and then confirmed, to be launching the iPhone 3G at 8 am this Friday, but Apple has also now confirmed they'll be launching at 8 am, which we mostly assumed, but hadn't seen in writing yet.

I'd much rather prefer this, as last year I sat in Florida sun from 5 am til 6 pm. That sucked.

I called my local (Richmond, VA) Apple Store at 6pm today (July 7th) and was told that they had no idea when they were getting them in and at what point they would being selling them. I'n going to call a few of the local AT&T stores tomorrow.

How early do you guys think we should be out at the AT&T store?? I know for a fact that I am not going to the one and only Apple store here in town becuase no matter what time or what day I go, its always packed!!

I'm in Indianapolis so...it won't be as bad as some New York or LA stores. What do you guys think...how early are you guys planning to go?

well the time i have to go is already made for me because my apple store is in a mall so the mall doesn't open to eight anyways. So i guess it will be a race to the apple store when the mall opens

I live about 2 minutes away from the Burlingame Apple store by car, and I have my alarm set to go off that morning at 5:45AM. Anyone else going to the Burlingame Apple store? I'd be happy to hold the line for someone.
