The data of the maps can be stores easy on the iphone (8GB) thats allot.
The US map will barley take up 1GB.
I don't know about you guys but a 8GB phone is allot of space.Iphone Love... I dreamed of a iphone before it was out..

Was there an answer to power supply question??? A usb connection on the outside ofthe device would suffice to keep the battery charged.

It would use too much space to copy Google Maps, perhaps on new generation of Iphone.

Only problem is the Google Maps thing so far.. The Edge data charges will be a bit steep..
And if you wanna install a proper GPS program... Well... Are there any for the Mac? Or any freeware GPS navigation engines that can be ported?

I think Google will have the GPS triangulation with the towers down more precisely in the coming months, Which will be more than fine for my purposes. A real GPS will of course exceed expectations, so I'll just wait patiently because both cases are "coming soon"
Dammit future, hurry up and get here. You can find Sciphone in the Links section...

Thats a good idea but, i tried this with Navizon application on my iphone and it works anything like that GPS it do anything without a hardware and its free. I think its great but right now all the iphone needs is an application or hardware that we can use as GPS without wifi.
