Your contact must have an 11 digit phone number or it won't work. Meaning u have to have a 1 before the area code. Example: 1-555-555-5555... So if you have all you contacts set in the format 555-5555 or 555-555-5555, your going to have to add a 1 and the area code or it won't work. Yay! This was driving me nuts.

I mean is it enough to have the "+" so it be 11 signs/digits?? Or do I have to have the 11 as numbers/digits???

Thats not necessarily truth, here i use 10 digit numbers xxx xxx xxxx, 3 digits for operator code and the rest is the mobile number, and it works for me, the thing it needs mostly is the integration whit the ringtones u add on iTunes or the app Ringtones, which are saved on ringtones folder, maybe justr a link to that folder would work?? lets hope the devs take note of this.

I still cant found a good video to put as ringtone, everything ppl uplod is videoclips or movie parts, and the default its too electronic for me, i guess ill record my gfriend shouting at me :P

are you talking about the videos playing in general or the option to have specific videos for specific contacts? Because the videos are not the problem. I never had a problem setting a video to play in the general menu, but when I selected the personalized settings and tried to set up a specific video to a specific contact it would allow me to select a video, and it would save the settings, but when that contact called, it ignored the personalized settings and instead played the same video I had set in the general settings.... now when I change the number to the 1-(XXX)XXX-XXXX format, it will play the personalized videos when those specific contacts call.

And with your other comment. I know what you mean. Those videos are pretty lame for a ringtone. What Im going to do is also make a video or collection of videos, remove the audio and then add some ringtones so I can select the video and the sound seperatly... this is also better because when you put your phone on silent, it will listen.

They should add a RANDOM option, so that it plays random videotones.. that way your not seeing and hearing the same video all the time.

the videos only take up like 1/3 the actual screen. I converted 8 videos and they are all the same. I am currently trying to figure out the correct settings for the video to fit the full screen.

it worked for me the Default video and the asigned to a contact video, no need to add numbers or anything, it could be region format thing o r i dont know, the thing is that it works for me and lot of ppl, but if u get it to work taht way, well.. just do it that way :P

the thing about this is that u have to add the ringtones in AIFF and also the videos, seems to me a lot of steos to make something work the way u want, i know is beta and tahts why we share things, to make it better, if u could just use the videos u want, uploaded, from mxtuve, from recorder, etc... and use the sound( ringtone) u have in the phone original settings, or just select from videotone but linked to that rngtone folder, would be better, just to make thins easier and not having a lot of steps and double things. know what i mean?

Props to the Dev's for an amazing app, seriously. Its a feature seen in other phones before, especially outside the US where everyone seems to be 3 steps ahead in the "cellular" wars but Thank You iPhone! Everything seems to work perfect, the only 2 issues i personally see throughout all the updates the last couple of days is two things. 1) Quality of sound seems poor if you decide not to make a seperate ringtone and keep the video's sound, 2) Even if u set ringtone seperate, they don't sync together, one WILL start before the other. For a beta, this app is pretty damn amazing. Kudos

I have the same experience as bts0uth:

Installed VT 1.2 - Working great
Found and downloaded Aimersoft iPhone Converter - Cough Cough (torrent)
Can assign personalized videos - No problem
Volume in videotones is pretty high - I have Volume Boost for 1.1.4 installed

The only problem is - the default video clip covers the entire iPhone screen, BUT, when you use the settings detailed in the ifonetec document on their website (iphone format, 320x480 resolution and 220/254 crop size - the resulting video clip does not fill up the entire iphone screen!

Can someone who has managed to find the correct combination to create full screen vids please paste their settings.

It seems like in order to silent your videoringtone is to quickly press the volume button, make your ipod player to minimum sound or the problematic separating the video and the sound.

This app would be great if the silent feature was sorted out without pressing the volume buttons.

Also, please would the developer make the ringtone volume constant. Like I mean I use my ipod player on the iphone quite regularly and dont turn up to the max volume when I listen. When I finish listening I tend to forget to turn the volume bar to maximum so when someone phones me the volume of the videoringtone will be quiet.

The second problem is the best way to conquer the silent problem at the moment but it's also a problem as well...

I hope I make some sense in what I write, I didn't work it too well did I?

okay but i imported the m4v file and i want to chop the movie to the part i want. and it wont allow me to put the clip into the imovie timeline.. but ill keep trying. it weird too.. ive used imovie for two years for a class at school.. and something simple like this im having aa hard time doing

A quick and easy way to have the latest video tones all u have to do is get mxtube which allows you to save videos in the mxtube file, next u need file browser to go to mxtube and then u copy the video u saved ! Then simply paste it to the video file inside of video tones and bam , simple , if this helps u out let me know , excellent program !
