I have an iphone updated to 1.01
I have a .mac account setup and synced with the iPhone
I have it set as the default account
I tried "checking the mail" with the .mac on the phone as suggested
I tried putting the phone on EDGE only for a couple of hours as suggested
I rebooted/ turned off/restarted as suggested
I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE WEB GALLERY BUTTON
I don't get it!!

How does the new iLife 08 affect getting that button to show up? Does iLife talk to the iPhone now? Is this only available if you sync with a mac?

The iLife 08 has the new feature iGallery. The Send to Web Gallery option is for an online gallery (Activated with iLife 08) on the web so that others can see your photos.
Without iLife 08, you do not get iGallery
Without iGallery, you do not get the Send to Web Gallery option

There is no reason to do something anonymously if it is believed to be legal and it will benefit our rights.

But where are you going to upload your images to?
In order to USE 'Send to Web Gallery' you need
1. iLife 08
2. a .mac account
Those 2 together give you an online gallery called iGallery.
With iGallery, you now have a place to upload your images FROM the iPhone. Without those 2 pieces (and in turn, iGallery), you would have no place to SEND the images to, thus making a sync with a Mac that HAS iLife 08, useless.
What WOULD be cool is an app that UTILIZES this capability of the iPhone, but sends to some place like photobucket.com.
THAT would be great, and help those of you that do Not have a Mac & iLife 08.

so what triggers the send of the button to the iphone. I have .mac and .Life '06.
If I get '08 what is it that tells AT&T to enable the send button.

Agreed! Right now I upload to photobucket using email, and have photobucket listed as a contact. I email to [email protected]
But finding a way to activate the send to gallery option and then changing the web location of the gallery to photobucket or flickr or another online gallery would be pretty sweet. Anyone up for the challenge?

Yeah if they want to intergrate with google so much ..then for those of us with out the .mac accnt and no ilife08 ...its should share the photos to our picasaweb.google.com
page
I would use that feature practically daily.....

I stand COMPLETELY corrected.
Here is how you activate it.
Have a .mac account.
Sync your .mac account with you phone
On the iPhone, go INTO your .mac account and have it update.
This should give you the Send to Web Gallery option.
In order to upload, you need iPhoto 08, and have it updated to version 7.01, create a gallery from within iPhoto, and enable the 'Allow Uploading By Email' option.
There.

Getting more features with .mac accounts and paid programs is ********.

it is kind of microsoft-esque to do something like that. I mean we already paid them $650!

hmm... i have ilife 08, the new upgraded iphoto 7.0.1, and still don't have the button. i don't currently have a .mac account though, so perhaps that is why.
