I understood your message, thanx a lot for the warning, but I'm about to get a 3G iphone, and I have a couple of questions if you don't mind:
Is the 3G running 1.1.4 (until 2.0 is out), and in that case is it safe to use Ziphone to unlock and jailbreak it or should I wait for an update ?

When the 3g has come out and has been unlocked/jailbroken will it be able to use 3g on tmobile? Or would you have to Switch to at&t to be able to use the 3g to the fullest extent?

Glad I decided not to put my phone on ebay. many were rushing to sell and shipped off their current iphone now they have a month wait with no phone.

Still I wonder what will happen with current market. Usually a new product will ship on X day, but in this case the update to product will be available on X date but I in between no iphones at all are avail?

That would make over a month of no sales.

That article was written on March 6th and said "schedule for June" but as we all know schedules can get pushed back. I think with the keynote address the NEW schedule is "early July" as Steve said. We shall wait and see :-)

This new phone and software is really going to separate the masses between 1g and 2g. Installer is going to get confusing for a bit, and people are going to draw the line between one or the other.

Personally I'm still pissed about the loss of RSBT from 1.02

Correct. The difference will strictly be hardware. Software wise both phones will have the same. Some software will have limitation (GPS-based software for example), though it might be able to get around using the current locate me feature.

What i've read at apple store is that it will be iTunes 7.7 which will
be required for the 3g iPhone, so I suppose that is going to be the version of iTunes where we (I mean more experienced ppl) can get their hands on the new fw. What do you think? (oh and what's that SIM ejector tool?! are they going to include a paperclip or what? )

Hello....

I have a unlocked/jailbroken fone... and was wondering what you do to get it back to stock state?? I suppose because its unlocked I cant restore it though itunes??? sorry if I sound blonde..lol but I shocked myself when I unlocked it... lolol

Hope someone can explain it to me.

^^^You could use Terminal to delete everything. Or MobileFinder works too. I would probably go with SSH though. You can easily delete an entire directory and even delete the ssh feature within its self.

I'm asking politely because im frightened of bricking my fone and want to ensure I update correctly.... this thread states not to update cos it will possibly brick my fone... So I wait!

If I wanted to go back to stock how would I do that on a unlocked fone?? im inexperienced so please be kind!!

i wish i read this earlier before i upgraded my unlocked iphone

*phone bricks and froze,cant restore with the new itunes, i mean u can but after the apple icon appears it will stay frozen. until the battery is fully dead.

but it did fix my greyd out wifi. but not unlocked.

rite now im waiting for new and updated unlocking tool
