Do some math people. The equivalent rate plan on T-Mobile is at least $20 per month cheaper than AT&T. If it costs you $175 to get out of your contract and sign up for T-Mobile, you end up breaking even within 9 months. Over the course of a 24 month contract you would spend an extra $480!! with AT&T so no matter how you break it down, it's ALWAYS cheaper to pay AT&T to break your contract and sign up with T-Mobile over any 12 month time span.

they gave me the runaround for 2 months and one of their reps called me a liar. one rep told me if i suspended it i would only have to pay $10 a month until my contract expires in oct and that would be cheaper.. next thing you know i get a bill for $130 for a phone i couldn't even use. when i complained she called me a liar and said there are no notes in their system stating i would get this discounted service... discounted my ***...

i wrote a letter to corporate explaining i nor anyone i know would ever use their services again and they waived termination fee and reimbursed me for that months services.

happy tmobile customer now!

Wtf? We need this damn discount thingy! We're the ones with $400 phone with no kind of protection plan. iF somethin' happens to my iPhone and for some reason iCan't afford another one, iStill have to front the bill until my contract expires. That's f**k'd up man!!!

It's not AT&T's fault you chose to buy an APPLE product (which you CAN buy a 2 year warranty for) to use on their service. There are several 3rd party companies that will give you isurance in it. SquareTrade CarePlus: The next best thing to iPhone insurance

Oh yeah.. AT&T doesn't offer insurance on ANY smart phone so they are not just singling out the iPhone people..

Have to agree with Poseidon79. You guys went into a 2 year contract with AT&T fully knowing what you were doing. If you needed insurance, I'm sure you could've bought it. And by the way: $400 for a phone is cheap as hell.

i swear i read somewhere that it's not just only going to be AT&T that has to offer this option of pro-rated cancellation fees. I believe that all phone carriers in US is gonna have to because of a court ruling with the FCC. Might just be that AT&T is first to implement new requirements. If this were actually confirmed. It would benefit AT&T to come out with this option first; attracting customers to their service for that psrticular "option" and the consumer doesn't realize this would be available via all carriers in near future.

yeah, carrier contracts suck, i hate how they make u sign 2 yr contracts just to get a discount phone
