Thanks for this!!
I'm looking out for the AnySim that works with 1.1.2! Too much downgrading makes my head spin.
OH, and this New Anysim survives the updates and doesn't make the phone Ibrick??
Hmm, whats that about?myRepoSpace.com - Easily create your own Cydia Repo.

Guide is more complicated than it needs to be. There is no need to run oneSIM.app. Also, the guide is outdated. You don't need the patched lockdown file anymore. The 1.1.2 jailbreak activates + fixes youtube + gives read/write access + installs Installer.app + gives the option to install ssh. Note that ssh did not work for me with winscp untill I installed bsdSubsytem.

If I have unlocked with IPSF on my OTB FW 1.1.1. Do I need to downgrade when I update to 1.1.2? Or can I just do the Octoprep, update with itunes and run the Jailbreak java thingy?

100% worked on my superbricked iphone after baseband was erased.
11-20-2007, 07:07 PM #8Success!
I successfully upgraded my unlock'd (T-Mobile) v1.1.1 iPhone using a hybrid between this shorter method and the longer method posted here (which has great screen shots of each step) and also re-posted in this thread/forum (NOTE: The how-to posted here has an initial step of using an app to re-virginize the baseband... I *did not* follow this step, having successfully virginized with this how-to prior to going to the v1.1.1 release a few weeks ago.)
The shorter method, which bypasses the v1.0.2 portion of the downgrade, does shorten the process significantly and works like a charm. I am now enjoying a fully unlock'd and fully functional v1.1.2 iPhone. Everything works.
That said, all three of the how-to's that are linked-to in this post accomplish that same goal - no ties to the Evil Empire. Good times indeed.- iPhoneWriter.com

What path did you follow to upgrade?

So if you use iPSF can you do it the same way??Chris 'cWanja' Wanja

Unlocked v1.1.1 (previously virginized, via link in my previous post above)
-> *restored* to v1.1.2 (lost unlock but did not brick!)
-> *restored* to v1.1.1 and re-unlocked using AnySimv1.2.1u
-> *updated* to v1.1.2 with unlock maintained.
So, basically following the tutorial detailed at the beginning of this thread but skipping the oneSim application step *and* *minus* the v1.0.2 restoration.
I hope this helps others! Thanks for asking, PF.- iPhoneWriter.com

Ok, looks like I am having a problem installing OKtoPrep. Whenever I install it from Installer, it appears to dl it but then brings me straight back to Springboard with no window telling me that I am now ready to do an update to 1.1.2. After it returns me to Springboard, a quick check in Installer still shows OktoPrep as an available download. Any solution for this?
