Here's an updated changelog ReVan if you wish to use it. Great job on creating this thread, it was much needed as 1.1.2 still draws confusion.
- Faster and smoother operatability, you don't feel the lag anytime during a screen change
- Apps, including 3rd party, respond to functions must faster.
- 95% of the Apps for v1.1.1 work (they all haven't been tested yet)
- The volume of the speakers is more louder and does not tear the speaker on high volumes or pitch sounds.
- The International support with AppSupport makes it now possible to: Receive service SMS's from banks and other operators which are now readable without the gabbled text
- The Caller ID works without mentioning the country code before the number in the Address Book.
- VM Notification now works! (Concurrent problem with Rogers and Fido customers)
- Processing speed and bus frequency of the processor has been bumped up to 412 MHz CPU Freq. and a 103 MHz Bus Freq. (Originally 400 MHz CPU Freq. and a 100 MHz Bus Freq in v1.1.1). This is documented by SysInfo
- MUCH BETTER Battery Management -
*New standby modes for EDGE and Wi-Fi. EDGE standby icon indicates a blue block instead of "E" and Wi-Fi standy icon indicates grey signal strength instead of blue. In turn, the iPhone now searches for EDGE or Wi-Fi only when prompted by the user (opening Safari,Youtube, etc)
- When entering a password, the shift key acted as CAPS LOCK in 1.1.1. This has been fixed.
- When you turn off the phone and turn it back on, it goes straight to the home screen instead of the slider screen.

To add to the post above its all true and
its working this is what I did,
I was on 1.1.1 at&t and Locked installed oktoprep via installer. Then followed all instructions at hacktheifone.com. When I pluged my phone into itunes it asked me if I wanted to install the new software or download only. Clicked on Download only then unplugged my iphone and let the software download. Once the software was downloaded I plugged my phone back in and itunes and it asked again if I wanted to install, I said "dont install" the I clicked on the "Upgrade button" and let itunes upgrade my firmware. Once itunes was done it automatically activated my phone (im on AT&T) I then disconnected my phone from itunes and Downloaded the jailbreak for 1.1.2 and used the windows.bat file. When using the jailbreak I click on the box to install SSH. At the end of the jailbreak process it will say to reboot your phone do so before clicking the "done" box. Once it reboots click the box. It will reboot agian. Im now on 1.1.2 jailbroken and everything works great. Have installer.app and SSH installed using jailbreak. All my self made rintones are gone. Will wait for tutorial to add them again. Installed NES and roms were still on phone and work. Installed summerboard 3.0b1 and works even kept my previous themes. Installed Xlaunch works great and still allows you to hide icons. Remember im just a novice that doent get fancy with his phone I just like games and themes and Im just following the instructions provide by the iphone gods (Dev Team). I'll keep yall updated with any thing i find doent work with 1.1.2
summerboard 3.0b1= works

Just wanted to reply to all those people asking 'when will we actually be able to upgrade to 1.1.2?': it IS possible to do so, using the instructions at:
I had a US-bought 1.0.2 iPhone unlocked with the early (corrupting) tools, and after revirginizing and following the guide above, am now unlocked back on my own O2 contract with 1.1.2 - and everything's working just fine.
The instructions aren't simple (39 steps is no exaggeration) but they're easy to follow. Still Mac only at this point - but Windoze users, you know what to do about that, don't you? ;-)

I have noticed that Customize isn't working.
It starts up and then shuts off.

Was the ability to change SMS notification sounds in 1.1.1? I'm not sure if it was, but I definitely found it in 1.1.2!

Customize works for me... just start it twice or a third time (had the same thing in 1.1.1 BTW)
SMS notifications from vodafone Germany voicebox (5500) now work... not the visual voicebox ones, but the regular ones...

I used http://www.modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15752 with a IPSF phone - only had to do the first step as the phone activated itself after jailbreaking. Takes 10mins.
Also can I just say on here how I wish everyone would stop moaning about unlocking - IPSF works perfectly, it is affordable and seems to be imune from all of the updates (also fixes bad basebands and IMEIs). - we all like to have free things, and we all like to feel that we are part of something that is for the better good, but come on - save yourselves some time.
