Looks like it's June 29 6 PM local time!
According to macrumors.com, a directive went out to all At&t stores telling them not to sell the iPhone until 6 PM local time. That gives all the East coast people a three hour head start.
I didn't think this would happen, but I guess they'll make it a big event and keep longer hours that Friday. Normally, the At&t stores around me close at 7 PM.

Man... that is lame. I guess being an east coaster makes it better... but still. Geez. Hows that gonna work? Are they gonna kick me out of the Apple store at 10 am when I walk in with my 4 DVD's and laptop with charger?

I talked to ATT on the phone today (customer support) and they said they would not be selling them the same time as the apple stores but at the opening of the store... so lots of mixed opinions lol.

Weird. My Apple guy hasn't said anything to me about that... I wish somebody would confirm this across the board! AAAH!

I didn't believe it either, but macrumors has been right on some other tips.
Once we see the directive, then we'll know for sure. Someone will have it posted soon.

I'm just hoping it's ready out the gate. I've spoke with Apple & Cingular (AT&T) reps & they seem to all have the same information. They said they should now more about what's poppin off about a week before (6/22/07). I've been checkin in to stay updated so if I have any news I'll keep everybody in da loop.
