its just the grestore command, thats all jailbreak does

you need to remake the iphuc from the snv, they have updated it with the getfile command

does the getfile get encrypted images? or do we still have to go thru a lengthy process to get pix from the phone? lemme know if u guys have access to some files.. I have most of the images, but the ones that are named the same like icon.png, default.png.. I don't have.. can someone hook me up? ty

negative bub.. what do u need this for windows anyways?
Anyhow I tried it out.. kept getting a looking for /iPhone error.. all my folders were in the right place, but couldnt seem to put/get files.. I could navigate thru the phone just like iphoneinterface, but couldn't do much else.. I'm sure there's more features there that I don't know about.. but for now, I think i'll stick to what works for me..

Lemme know if im doin something wrong, or if there's something worth updating for..

I'm confused about something. When it says that iPHUC works perfectly well with firmware 1.0.1, does it mean 1.0.1 on the phone, or 1.0.1 in the /phonedmg directory, or both? I have it on the phone and in the /phonedmg dir and when I go to do the grestore, I get a message saying that it failed:

failed (17) Aborting.

Not sure how to proceed from here. I'm on a 15" PowerBook, if it makes any difference.

Ok. I looked at the source and determined that iPHUC requires the 1.0 firmware in the /phonedmg directory, so I switched to that instead and now I have a different problem: ditto lies. It tells me that it copied Services.plist ok, but the file isn't in the jail for me to run getfile on. No matter how many times I've tried, it says it did it but really didn't, even though it gives a 0 return code. I could copy the fstab, just not the Services.plist.

ok so what i gather from a Shell Noob is that it will work on any comp that jailbreak will work on.. and i think its goin to make it so you only have to jailbreak once.. i dunno i got iphuc to work and then just jailbreaked.. then used iphuc and the re jailed my phone... worked

If you don't do the system/library/lockdown step then you don't have to run jailbreak everytime. I just keep the services.plist in my modding folder and putfile it right before i open itunes to sync some new albums or whatever. Essentially im leaving my phone open for modding whenever i want since i do that way more often than i sync it with itunes these days
