For all of you having trouble importing your downloaded music into the ipod player, simply download AVplayer and finder. Browse to /private/var/mobile/Media/Downloads on firmware 1.1.3-1.1.4 or
/private/var/root/Media/Downloads on firmwares 1.1.2 and lower.
Select the song you want to play and click open with AVplayer.
WOW, this is surprisingly useful over edge with 17kb download speeds. Screw Apple and the iTunes music store, they didn't want you downloading music over edge but now we are

Thank god this thing runs in the background, it'd be a pain in the *** to let the thing go at 18 kb/s.
Amazing app after a little SSH work

For me files were going in /private/var/root/Media/Downloads instead of /private/var/mobile/Media/Downloads and Finder doesn't like that location so it couldn't browse to it.
I did:
and everything is good now.Code:ln -s /private/var/mobile/Media/Downloads /private/var/root/Media/Downloads
Hopefully that helped someone.

well, i installed the app and downloaded the app and had no luck finding them. then i tried the sym link mehtod above, still no luck. but then i went here and it showed up in finder and in the iSlsk downloads tab. i can play the music in AvPlayer, but u cant use the rest of the phone (go to another app) while using avplayer, so i wanted to import all my songs into the ipod app so i can play it in the background, but whenever i hit import all files, it comes up importing then after its done it pushes me back to springboard, from here i click ipod, to see my music isnt there. ive also tried respring and restarting my phone, but no luck. so can u help now that u know wat ive done?

I followed the same methods as you and am awaiting an update from errick. But for now, I believe this is the only way to do it. It seems to me that this app was developed for 1.1.1 because all of the folders are in root instead of the normal mobile now. This could cause complications for the program such as writing files to the mobile directory from the root without the proper permissions. So until he updates it to run from mobile, we will have to wait. I haven't checked, but I think the iTunes_Control folder was in root\media before and not mobile\media. This would explain why the files don't show up in the iPod. The program is telling itself to write files to a non-existent location. Just my thoughts, please correct me if I'm wrong.

i don't know why this method isn't working for me? followed it word for word, and even uninstalled it and attempted it again.

Make sure you replace all the right files and set permissions to folders that need them.
Did you create the Downloads folder in mobile/media/ ?
Then you have to give the folder execultable permission (755) so it can be written to from root. Your files will show up in the downloads folder, but won't import into the iPod.Please hit the thanks button if I helped you out

There is a update out now for it. Not sure it is the fix for our problems, will find out in a sec.
Edit: Don't see what it fixed. Still have the error and problem with getting the next file to download once one finishes, have to exit and then open again to get next file to download. Trying a reboot and then maybe a uninstall and then reinstall.Last edited by HighTymes; 05-14-2008 at 09:26 PM.
