Above is the original source for the info below.
In order to have iSlsk.app working you will need to perform the following steps.
Log in to your iPhone or iPod touch with SSH (Putty) and do the following:
1) check if you have “ioreg” binary in /usr/bin/ directory
2) If not download it from the link above and upload it to /usr/bin
2) Connect with ssh/vterm from iphone or however but run the following commands:
3) chmod 755 /usr/bin/ioreg
4) chown mobile:mobile /Applications/iSlsk.app/
5) chown mobile:mobile /Applications/iSlsk.app/*
6) Download libncurses.5.dylib from the link above and upload only libncurses.5.dylib to /usr/lib
7) chmod 777 /usr/lib/lib*
8) mkdir /var/root/Media/Downloads (if it already exists it’s ok)
9) chmod 777 /var/root/Media/Downloads/
This last one should fix your itunes import problem.(credit goes to Edward from Touch Podium)
10) ln -s /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control /private/var/root/Media
11) Reboot your iphone.
Once you finished downloading a song from within the iSlsk.app and are trying to import, the app will crash, crash, crash!!!
The fix...
Goto iappcat.com and search for MNPlight,
I added this source to installer...
Mkv.Mobi
Once refreshed I searched all packages for MNPlight.
From within that app (MPNlight) you can click on the ipod and change the directory to /var/root/Mobile/Downloads and click import
The songs will now show up into your Iphone’s ipod.Last edited by thegeek; 05-17-2008 at 09:02 PM.

I've been working on this script and I keep getting a "Main script execution failure" message, if anyone can find the problem we will have a nice script to do everything at once
. The error is coming from the CopyPath command, i'm pretty sure of that.

Best way to do is to install the WinSCP and SSH into your phone. Then go to var > mobile > applications and right click on the iSLSK folder. Go in properties and change the value to 0777. That is it. Works fine on my 16gig 1.1.4 iphone.
thanks to the developer

Just throwing this out there since the iphone can't protect itself by masking it's IP or anything else...but is anyone concerned about RIAA monitoring soulseek and getting busted for music downloads on a mobile device?

I tried all the know methods of fixing the fwguid error and nothin worked on my 1.1.4 but then I installed pnmlight and imported once and then went into islkl after and I don't get the error anymore. I am able to import and see all the songs no problem now

what is pnmlight? I cant find it in installer
Also I got an idea I don't know if it will work or if anyone has tried it but I remember hearing everyone saying that it works fine on 1.1.2, if so why not try using FWChanger from installer and set it to 1.1.2Last edited by lasteve; 05-18-2008 at 02:25 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I did exactly that and it worked like a charm! I d/l FWChanger 2.1 and set my iphone's firmware to 1.1.2 and voila! Before, I changed the isks app folder's permission to 0777 and it got rid of the firewireGUID error, and the music files would import over to the ipod but when I clicked on the file it wouldn't play. But now they play no problem! Thanks for this suggestion. I only hope that my other apps won't have firmware conflict issues by using FWChanger.

Its the older way of importing songs to your iPod without iTunes. You have to add the source http://repo.mkv.mobi

i got it to work, but, how to delete the songs from your ipod after importing?
and, if after importing you want to keep the songs, how to stop itunes "sync" from deleting them?
after importing, do they go into itunes_control?

[QUOTE=coachballfirm;1042081]Did anyone else try this to see if it works???? you should try your other apps to see if they get conflicted......
Well, so far the only app that seems not to work with my FWChanger set to 1.1.2 is Cydia...it just crashes when I try to open it. So I just need to change the setting back to 1.1.4 and it works. Just need to remember to change it back to 1.1.2 before starting the islsk app.
EDIT...Cydia is now seems to be working with the 1.1.2 setting. Not sure why it was crashing b4.Last edited by Transient; 05-18-2008 at 10:51 PM.

k well.. as much as I'd love to d/l FW changer and go back and forth for this app, it'd be much appreciated for the dev to come up with sometime of fix..seems like everyone on 1.1.3/4 is having a problem..c'mon, how about a lil help!!

I have the same problem. When I sync with iTunes it wipes out all the songs I downloaded. So I am to assume the only way to transfer your downloaded songs is to ssh them to your hard drive BEFORE you sync your iphone? If so, that kinda sucks.
