possible reason why they are out of stock
The only reason I can think of for them being out of stock is because they want to make sure that people don't flood the apple and at&t stores in the U.S. with returns under the 14 day return policy. Seems like it makes sense to me, espically seeing some people being upset when the 16gig was released.

To be honest I think I am going to stick with the old iphone because having 3g I am sure it will also be 50 dollars a month rather than 20...
Although, if it does come in black who knows?
And you know what they say... "Once you try black, you can't go back"
LOL

Possibly the shortage is because of the distribution to all of the new countries getting iPhones around the world?

Why 3G again?
Can someone break down 3G again? I had a HTC 8525, so I have had a 3G phone before, but wth would I want to spend another $700? Because it's fast? Can I do anything special with it that I can't currently? So confused. Thanks

$700?!? That better come with a massage and dinner too!! I can barely keep up with the gas prices and my mortgage payments. I will definitely have to wait till my iPhone finally dies.
Don't forget the Thanks if I helped

Man apple sure does like to overprice their crap. They are very lucky I forked out over $300 for a iPod Touch (which I guess I should have waited)

The only time to upgrade your iPhone is went the 32GB or 64GB come out with a real GPS chip in it with voice navigation, for the price of the 8GB of $499 or $599 on till then I stay where I am. Apple Suck My D!$%

I am pretty sure Apples contract with AT&T is five years...
Yeah the last part made me laugh also! LOLOLOL
I am a little confused as well of what this 3G iPhone will have to offer us? What will be different about it than the phones we have right now? Wonder if our phones will continue to have upgrades etc? Or is it time to mod mine...
I have not modded mine yet as I had the patience to wait it out... never in my wildest dreams did I think they were going to come out with so many different types.. meaning 4gig, 8 gig and the 16 gig ones.. and now a new one?
To many in one year... LOL
But in reality with the gas prices and how things are right now I do not think that they will sell as many as they did the first time around when it first came out unless it is so cool and offers everything that everyone wanted in the first place.... LOL
Its a tough world out there right now.... the gas is killing us all... we have to eat, have cloths, have heat, gas etc.... and for many a phone they can live without...
As for me... will I run right out to buy one? I don't know... I will have to wait it out to see it. I did not run right out to buy the first one but now with my addiction to the dang thing who knows.... I probably won't but I will want to see what it is like that is for sure..
I would however like the 16 gig phone right now.... as I have the 8 gig one right now. I have to say... I am a windows person and have been but just bought a macbook and what a refreshing new toy......Last edited by thetoothfairy; 05-10-2008 at 08:55 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
