1.1.2 Confirmed for Rollout Tomorrow, Friday

Pocket-lint has received confirmation that 1.1.2 WILL in fact launch as an update for ALL iPhone users tomorrow via iTunes.
If you are unlocked or modded, you should give it a few days for the existing modding software to come about. This is a minor update, so most modding applications should not need heavy tweaking to continue working. The TIFF exploit WILL be fixed in this update, however, so jailbreaking will be tough again for a bit.
Hang tight ya'll, for now we're the mice.

so jailbreaking will be tough.
What about if it is jailbroken - can you keep it or will it restore?

connect to itunes = auto update? or do you need to press the update button to update? Should we not connect the iPhone to iTunes?

lol...
come on guys look at the bright side.....
with apple updating the software as much as they are, 1. you will never get bored of modding, and 2. you dont have to answer the same questions over and over....you get new ones every month....(can you tell im trying to rationalize my dislike for the updates?)

Question is, will the new phones come pre-installed with 1.1.2?

iTunes will prompt you to update. Just press the "no" button when the prompt appears. You can even check the "Don't ask me again" box.
There are probably still a bunch of 1.1.1 iPhones sitting in Apple retail stores. It'll probably take a few weeks till we see 1.1.2 OTB.I'd rather be on two wheels.

I wonder how many people will "accidentally" update their unlocked phones this time around.

So if I was to update tomorrow and my phone is using installer app, my phone would be dead basically? I didn't make a restore for it... Uh oh! Thanks in advance.

Every live & kicking unlocked iPhone is a ppoint for the MICE. Every stuffed up brick of an iPhone is a point for Steve Job's and the Apple circle of total control.
Don't give any points to Apple. It's about time the mice win as the cat is already fat.

Do you have the features of this update?

Rumors of the features list are floating out on the net.

Why even worry about updating. If it's a minor update, it's probably ONLY to fix the exploit which your jailbroken phone should have already fixed for you.

I wonder if apple will just unleash random small updates like this often to try and deflect jailbreakers. As long as there's nothing really cool about any of these updates.. I see no reason to move beyond 1.1.1, is there anything known about this update that would be worthwhile for upgrading?

I seriously don't understand how we can get to this point... This question has been answered a hundred times every time Apple releases an update. If you can't be bothered to find the answer to what is probably the #1 asked question on this site, why should we be bothered to answer it again, here. I just visit the site and I'm sick of reading it in every single update post.
Now that I have vented, no. Your phone will be a perfectly usable LOCKED 1.1.2 iPhone if you update.-G
