New U.K. iPhones come with firmware v1.1.2
T3 got their hands on the new European iPhone, and to their delight (and dismay), the phone is pre-installed with firmware 1.1.2—which is newer than the 1.1.1 firmware we currently have in the states. Believe it or not, it's actually packing some new features. But before you ask, their early testing shows that current Jailbreak software is no longer functional. So that whole saga continues!
The biggest standard consumer-oriented change is probably that the phone supports 12 languages out of the box, along with special keyboards for French and German languages (we guess that the other languages see a more limited level of support).
There's also bundled free access to The Cloud Wi-Fi hotspots, which we've already seen in the European iPod Touch.
And like we said, no more iPhone hacking for a little while. [t3]
Thanks Apple, we just got things up and running again!

Possible Fix for the Service SMS's (sMS's received from banks, and other opperators)
When you first turn the phone on, you're greeted by an SMS message from o2, explaining how to get visual voicemail to work on your iPhone
Rest of the images of the UK iPhone v1.1.2:
As you can see in our unboxing video, all the bits and pieces are the same as with the US iPhone
... Despite the bigger box, it doesn't come with more goodies - just a bigger plug than the US iPhone.
The UK box is slightly bigger than the US box, to allow for the bigger 3-prong UK plug.
The UK iPhone comes complete with free The Cloud Wi-Fi coverage and the iTunes Wi-Fi music store

well the tiff exploit a la jailbreakme.com is pretty new... will those still work?
im guessing probably not, but its worth a try"The glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall."

I knew the tiff exploit wouldnt be around for long.
I mean, they can just add support for tiff to mobilesafari...its really not that hard for apple to do that..
Dont worry, they'll find a way.
Its only a matter of time.
Any other features on 1.1.2?myRepoSpace.com - Easily create your own Cydia Repo.

Sounds like there is NO reason to update to 1.12 unless you really need different keyboards...

Agree with above.
No new great features=we don't upgrade.
Honestly I'm glad the tiff exploit is being patched as it's only a matter of time until a moron creates a malicious TIFF ala PSP, etc.
Yes, it's gonna cockblock jailbreak but so did 1.1.1
Honestly, and I posted this on HoFo, it looks like Apple is more after fixing exploits and bugs rather then preventing us from modding and unlocking. (it's just that we use those to get in quick)
If they wanted to lock it all down, they would have gone the BREW route and that would be that.

Well, it doesn't sound like there's much (if anything) in the new firmware update for English speaking users. I'll probably sit this round out.
