One Tap dialing of whomever...
Erica posted a neat tip over on TUAW which allows you to have an app which calls a specific number just by clicking it.
The basics are: use OpenURL, and make your URL read tel:212-555-1212, using wtvr number you'd like to call. That number is the direct number to the White House, feel free to use it.
iPhone Apper can do the same thing...

Use for maps too!
You can use openURL to save Google maps as well as phone numbers (or more useful - routing!)
Using openUrl change the content of the file called url.txt to a link to your Google Maps route. You will need to format it correctly though.
Normal Google link:
http://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=Sa...addr=cupertino
Link for url.txt:
maps:daddr=San+Francisco,+CA&saddr=cupertino
(neither link method seems to work with iPhone apper)
Now I have a one click link to my commute every morning.
Enjoy,
Greg

DUH! you have to dial #31# first! that'll block your caller id for that call only. Just append it to a saved number in your contacts list, if ya got to. I use it all the time. no charge on t-mobile... not sure about AT&T. just an idea!
so... theoretically, if this really IS the white house's direct number, what would they do if I called and asked for that mexican rice dish lady, condol... something_or_rather? I don't wanna call it... i'm not near a payphone

Yah, it was obviously not the direct number to the White House, folks.
