Rogers announced Tuesday that they WOULD be releasing the iPhone for users of their network. They did not release any information on the date, other than "later this year".

Canadian iPhone lovers have been drooling since before the US launch of the iPhone, waiting to get their hands on an official Canadian iPhone. Over 150,000 Canadians visit MMi every month (what's up, Vancouver and Weston!) - well, now you'll be getting official Rogers iPhones.

Here's the short and sweet quote from Rogers:

We're thrilled to announce that we have a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada later this year. We can't tell you any more about it right now, but stay tuned.

Meh, who cares... lol Canada was not missing anything really amazing. It's good though that others who don't wanna take chances and purchase an iPhone from the US can now do it legally (Well sometime this year...) lol O well, its a good thing I already have mine unlocked in Canada.

Too bad Fido isn't getting it, Rogers sucks big time =/

Note i switched from Rogers to Fido and im seriously satisfy with Fido now!

hey guyz i have a friend who is going to come there in canada...will he be able to acquire an iphone from there easily. how about unlocked ones...^^ just want 2 know coz he wants 2 bring and use the iphone in the philippines. (or maybe i can try 2 unlock it here myself...haha noob power).

wow I am happy for the lads back home in BC now they can have a legit iPhone without all the hassle of unlocking them although I'll stick with my unlock iPhone. But I really think is cool for the people that live in Canada and aren't frequent flyiers like me.

I loved the Eh! Finally the Americans know a bit aboot us haha!
