vWallpaper video wallpaper released

I'm using WinSCP ... i'm using this program since i bought my iphone ( 6 months ago ).

Librery/Skrew/Videos directory that posted in first post confuse everyone here. First, it can be the ones in root/ ( 1.1.2 ) or mobile/ ( 1.1.4 ). Secondly it can be the one in Applications/vWallpaper/

If we fellow vwallpapers.com install tutorial he state :



So the first option is thrown in the trash ... and we can only upload in Applications/vwallpaper/Librery/Skrew/Videos

Any comments...!!

First, do you know how to SSH into your phones file system?

What program are you using? WinSCP CyberDuck?



Sorry, I just noticed you mention earlier in the thread about what I asked. You are looking at the totally wrong directory. When you first login with WinSCP go to the top and select the folder from the drop down box. That is the directory you want to be in. It goes --> Library --> Skrew --> Videos In the Videos folder is where you will add your background videos.

There are a dozen of Library in the system ... make me so confused.

PS: Reducing the number of Library folders in the iPhone 2 will be the most important feature

for those with firmware 1.1.4 got this great app to work and also snapture. please list or explain how did u get it to work. List the app that might help solve the camera problem. i read all the post and someone with snapture app is working. please help us with this problem .thanx

mine is 1.1.4 unlocked-jailbreaked(iliberty+)
wallpapers(fire, and water) work but camera not working. any idea????

Mines working just fine...Couldn't really tell you why though. It never stopped working so I didn't need to fix it. Maybe try unistalling Snapture and reinstalling? Good luck with that.

Read the last 5 posts if you can't run customized videos with the application. Concerning Camera application i don't even try it if works or not because I'm hiding it using Poof and i replaced it by Snapture which not works.

this what i tried. uninstall smb and snapture, reset all setting....reboot the phone. install only vwallpaper. start vwallpaper and pick the fire.mov turn ON mode and respring. Fire wallpaper work, install snapter and reboot....no go....hmmm..i cant think of anything else to do but i really like this app and also the camera.I guess i can only have one =(...


Edit: could it be the stock .mov files? can ony 1 confirm that the stock files is On and snapture still working?

GREAT app! Even though it desperately needs just some finishing touches...

For all of you who have NOT gotten it to work: it is probably related to also having the Ringtones.app installed. Explanation: both apps need to have a file called "RingtonesHook.dylib" in the /Library/RingtonesApp directory, and copy it on install from their own directory. However, the files are different. The file size of the version that vWallpaper.app uses is 41.996 bytes, whereas the version used by Ringtones.app is only 21.364 bytes. Problems arise, for example, when Ringtones is installed after vWallpaper. In this case, remove or rename the smaller one (use WinSCP or similar), and copy the larger one from /Applications/vWallpaper.app into /Library/RingtonesApp and the the video wallpaper will work.

To do so, type (in a terminal, remotely - I'm using WinSCP again - or on the iphone itself):



And to be sure, set permissions correctly:



Reboot.

Skrew should make sure that this conflict between Ringtones.app and vWallpaper.app is resolved. Less advanced iphone hackers should not run into these problems...

PS: a tip for anyone in need of that great video wallpaper: check out Blender for a nice free open source 3D animation program, you can make great 3D animated videos in exactly 320x480 easily with it.

And just another tip: conversion of video's can easily be done with QuickTime Player, use File > Export for Web, and use the iPhone format.

Right if you install ringtones after vWallpaper, vWallpaper stop working. I use the same hook because empiling too many hook in springboard are not a good idea.

BTW, i will need to update the RT hook in ringtones application, right!

You have to copy your videos here and delete old directory.
- Applications like Camera, iPod, MxTube (...) should work now (please feedback). Autolock still don't work ATM.

Comfirming that 0.5 works great with 1.1.4, and the camera.app issue is resolved.

There is a change in how it works with Categories. Previous version would show a still of the video wallpaper as the background to a category when opened. This no longer takes place. Your selected standard wallpaper now displays in any category.

Found a bit of a bug. If you have an alarm set, when it goes off, it will mess up the vWallpaper. If you just turn off the alarm, you simply have to go to vWallpaper and re-set the video. If however you snooze the alarm, the wallpaper begins to flash wildly between the video and something else - I presume regular wallpaper. The only way to correct it is to turn the phone off and then back on.
