Just tried it on my iPod Touch - went without a hitch. Make sure when you let it run its bit, and it kicks you back to the home screen, you WAIT until it locks the screen. THEN good to go.

What"s the word on read/write access?

If I run this on my already-jailbroken 1.0.2 iPhone, will it change my internal IMEI number so that it does not match the number on the back of the phone?

I installed it and it works awsome. All the themes are working great, NES Modulator is fine, i tried installing the customization of spring board, 3rd party app launcher, Mobilecast and a couple of otherthings and they wont open, it looks like there getting ready to but the jsut take me back to the pring board. Any suggestions ??????

i bought a 1.1.1 iphone, then downgraded it to 1.0.2, downgraded the baseband as well from .04 to .03 (practically made it a 1.0.2). i did this a few weeks ago with a guide here....

what exact process should i follow to be able to update to 1.1.1 (without bricking it), then jailbreak it, and finally unlock it and be able to use all the apps, phone options, messages, safari, itunes, etc.

turns out i did have read/write access.
but IPHONEBROWSER prog will not work with this jailbreak
use winSCP
works perfect

my iphone is 1.1.1 and I downloaded the installer and nothing else, no packages or games just hit the button on jailbreakme.com...I am on At&t never unlocked it...If I restore my iPhone, will it be bricked? I want to get rid of the installer! Please help!

You can restore just fine. Why don't you want the installer?

Check the Wiki, I created a guide recently on virginizing your 1.0.2 and then upgrading.

yeah you have access to read and write, use winSCP or another server client.
because iphonebrower and other applications would not let me, this might just be with my device, but winSCP is user friendly

The downfall is you only have read/write access through SSH or SFTP. I can not get iBrickr or iPhoneBrowser to read the internals so I can drag and drop. Other than that, an awesome step forward.

I dont know how to download roms straight from the installer.
but this is how i do it in winSCP with no probs


root/var/root/media/ROMs/NES

last two need to be created, right click--->new---->directory---->type in "ROMs" NO qoutes..
then open the ROMs directory you just created, and right click ---->new--->directory---->type in "NES" all caps no Quotation Marks

yes you do if you used anySim or iunlock to unlock your 1.0.2

to those who are talking about read/write access problem.
1) I think you should be clearer about what you are talking about (from which app, ...)
2) I think you are talking about access through apps like iphonebrowser, ibrickr and so on.
3) I had the same problem with previous ways of unjailing 1.1.1, I have solved my problem using the procedure described here:

4) I have a working and jailbroken 1.1.1 iphone so I am not about to try a new procedure so I cannot confirm that point 3) will actually work with this way of doing although I don't see why it wouldn't
5) ibrickr will still not give you file access as (at least in the case of the version I used last) it will detect 1.1.1 and not give you any other choice than downgrading. iphonebrowser will work, don't know about mac utilities

The only way to get read/write access to is to update your phone and drop the new service into your phone. iBrickr works fine if you use the touchFREE method of jailbreaking, but it does not work until the new services is dropped using the debated method.
