have to replace 3 files with "authenticated" files
and delete activation history directory.

Does this method also activate the phone with a non-att sim? The site claims that it does but I just wanna know if anyone has tried this successfully.

Alright i used the one tap method got unlocked and everything works great!! (Thanks again Dev team) but now my tmo edge is NOT staying on, i can type in the config. and it will work but if i turn off my phone it erases those configurations! any suggestions?

installed great for me,got all apps working that ive installed so far. does anyone know if there is any software to access teh file system yet with this hack???

yes, one of the steps for the tiff exploit is to turn on your wifi to download the jailbreak install

Just SSH into your phone and drop the Services.plist into the directory. It will grant you read/write access without the use of SSH.

I hope I don't get mocked for this, because I have tried to read most of the posts... I have a 1.0.2 iphone (jailbroken - with apps on it), and I am using AT&T. Can I use the restore feature in iTunes, upgrade to 1.1.1, and then use the instant jailbreak?

As long as you never unlocked your phone to use with another carrier, you'll be fine. That's the beauty about jailbreaking, you can undo everything with a simple restore. Just to let you know though, I recommend restoring your phone with iTunes first before performing the jailbreak.

edit: and just in case you also were wondering, yes restoring the phone will delete everything. Music, Contacts, and of course any modifications you did (app wise).

But like I said DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU HAVE AN 1.0.2 UNLOCKED PHONE, as far as 1.1.1 unlocked phone, not too sure.

OK I jailbroke using touchfree on an oob 1.1.1. Everything works. I have been getting alot of crashes. I read to turn off walpaper and dim. That fixed so far. I want wal paper and all functions. Should I restore and try this jailbreak? Has there been any problems with crashing?

Alright, I was able to get the apps to work. I had to install them while on WIFI. Edge did not work for me.

Now, is there a way to set custom text message or email indicators?
