iPhone 2 by March?
According to UBS analyst Ben Reitzes, Apple could be releasing the second version of the iPhone by March of next year. He believes this based on contacts he has in Apple's supply chain. Who knows...

It would all have to be hardware upgrades. There's no way in hell Apple could (should) get away with a new phone that had MMS or camera functions, or c &p... They bragged that the iPhone could have software upgrades all the time, which is plausible, as we've seen. Could you imagine the outcry if iPhone v2 had software upgrades that the iTouch and iPhone didn't have, just because they wanted people to buy the newer version?

Blah, its only a matter of time really. The iPhone is a huge hit, so certainly a second version will someday get released. March? I doubt it.

They better not... You can't come out of the gate charging people $600 for a phone, and then not even a year later come out with a newer model! That's absurd! Electronics change fast enough as it is. That's getting a little crazy though.
Dear Apple,
Please allow us to enjoy what we have before you charge us another $600. Or, maybe we could go for more this time...do i hear $700 perhaps???Last edited by cjacks519; 10-25-2007 at 06:31 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I agree that all the current deficiencies... no: camera video support, OBEX, JAVA, flash etc can easily be addressed with firmware updates. After all, the hardware is already in place. So speculating on what iPhone v2 will be like is really nothing but a guess. I suppose the only reasonable "guesses" are: 3G, 16GB, different colours. As for a supposed March release? Makes sense. Apple does tend to release new hardware in 1 year cycles. But again, all idle speculation.

****, I want a larger storage. I also would love some flexibility in customization, like summer board. Digital zoom and flash wouldn't hurt either. Other than that, I'm quite satisfied with my iPhone.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen as Apple every year has a new Ipod product. Do I like it? No but its the progression of technology, you have to live with the choices you make and always have the idea that within a year, or even less, your product is out of date. Even phones you buy NOW, already have two to three different models in the works. You guys can't complain for the progression because you will never win. Its bound to happen, if not next year by years end.

Definitely not complaining. Just seems a little over the top for them to release a phone for $600 and in less than a year tell all their consumers it's now obsolete. Haven't seen too many other manufacturers do that. I've seen other manufacturers release totally different models like clockwork, but never the same model to replace one they just released.

Iphone 2,
32 gig,
wxga screen res,
3.5 g (hsupa),
a 3 meg cam with video,
mms,
PTT,
expandable screen surface so you can double the screen size if needed
the phone will be locked to your dna so no one else can use it
and if a foreign sim is put in it will explode (only a small explosion)

You forget, they need a nano... They did patent a dialing technology based on the same circular dial they use on the iPods...
Lower market point, simpler tech...
Ziger.

Ahhh, the next big thing the ipaper phone. its one sheet of flexible screen material. you can bend and fold it to whatever size you want. it has molecular sound wave technology that enables any part of the surface to either emit or record sounds. it can be one big or small screen and speaker at the same time. oh and did i mention no battery it is bio chemicaly charged by the ions from your breath when you talk. Oh and i have all of these technologies pattented so dont be getting any ideas
