Thats good to hear, but I would like to point out some notes very closely so people don't download and run it without reading about it.
Q: Can I use this method to re-virginize my iUnlock/anySIM'd phone in either 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 firmwares?
A: Yes. However, this process involves reflashing the 3.14 baseband firmware so it is safer to downgrade to 1.0.2 OS firmware prior to proceeding.
Q: I attempted to virginize using geohot's server but it failed. Is it safe to use this method now?
A: Maybe. If the previous attempt to re-virginize accidentally wrote zeroes in the baseband seczone then this method will likely not work. However, if the failure was non-damaging then you are welcome to try and see if this works. Be sure to backup your seczone first!
This guide assumes you've already established ssh access to your phone. For added peace-of-mind it is advisable.

Cool, i already used geohots server to fix mine, does that damage it? Doubt it, i had no errors come up at all during it.

Finally the patience pays off of not upgrading to 1.1.1 for my unlocked 1.0.2 iphone. Waiting for the guide and some confirmations on this method.

i thought that the virginalizer of dev team was something easy to do, like 1 click, i waited patiently in unlocked 1.0.2 to see that in this virginalizer u also need to mess with terminal and all that complicated things...

Is anyone ever happy? Dude, this is a huge thing! Do you understand how difficult it was to do this in the first place?
Same thing happened with the unlock. It came piece by piece. It was hard and then became automated. If you want "one-click" you have 2 options.
1. Continue to wait patiently. Be happy that your phone WORKS and APPRECIATE it.
2. Write the program yourself. Don't assume that this is easy stuff and complain when it's not the first thing released.
OR
Get someone who knows their way around terminal to do it for you.
I don't mean to get on your case, but seriously, be appreciative for the work and success that has been achieved to get the iPhone where it is today.
Great work to the Elite Team!

Is the iPhone Elite Dev Team different from the iPhone Dev Team? If they are different, should we necessarily trust their release?

Politics. Same initial base, two separate groups.
Should you trust ANYONE's release? All this is beta software, tested before release obviously, but at the end of the day, we're still modding.
But not to worry, we get guides up to make it all as easy as possible. I'm working on one now.

And I have another (possibly stupid) question. This process doesn't erase any data that's been downloaded to the phone, like contacts and music, right?

Poetic_Folly, I've been patiently waiting for a Mac OS X re-virginizer to 1.02/upgrade to 1.1.1/unlock 1.1.1 guide from MMI for a while now. This site is a daily visit for me and a huge help in making everything easier.
The guides on this site are amazingly easy-to-follow and truly clear.
I will wait patiently to see the guide up, and I just wanted to thank you, poetic_folly (as well as the other staff on this site), for your hard work to make us SSH newbies follow this stuff a little bit easier.
Thanks again!
I was thinking about that too, but just to be safe, I synced my Contacts with my Address Book on my Mac, and backed up my "iPhone" playlist. Just to be safe!Last edited by oxeneers; 10-23-2007 at 01:17 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Hello. Maybe someone can help me out with a question.
I'm new to all this. I recently bought an iPhone with firmware 1.0.2. and I unlocked it using the quides here on modmyi. The folloying is the link to the guide.
http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/IPh...ck_OS_X_Part_1
I would love to upgrade to 1.1.1., is this new "virginizer" what I would use to unlock it? How does this work?
Thank you for your help.

I also have the unlock 1.0.2 but would like to upgrade to 1.1.1 and unlock it but need to know if you guys recommend using this virginizer. I also used the method here in the site for unlocking, which was the OS X Part 1 method.
