where you can download 3.0 from? i just upgraded to 1.1.1 and all i can find online is the older version of installer.app and when i open it, it just sits there for a while on the main installer screen and eventually just closes.

I can see where we 1.0.2 users are slowly but surely being left behind. Installer 3.0 is "recommended for 1.1.1". There are now tweaks which only work for 1.1.1 and probably programs shortly which will only work with 1.1.1
Ah well, I guess it's upgrade time. Now I really want the Dev Team to hurry up and get that 1.0.2 unlock fix!

Damn! I went into 'updates' and chose to update to 3.0 and now installer has disappeared from my home screen, and it is not listed in launcher.
What should I do now???
(I'm on 1.0.2)

AppTapp 3.0b worked great on my 1.0.2. My question why should I update 1.1.1 firmware? I hate to update it will lose everything. Its pain in ***** to do many steps such as restore and install many programs. Argh any suggest?

I'll hold off for now!
With the problems out there... I think I will hold off upgrading to Installer 3 on my 1.0.2 iphone. Maybe after I get a few more people coming forward saying it was safe to do.

Be patient. Hang on to 1.0.2 for now. You will still have everything you need. There are a lot of people who are excited that had 1.1.1 and they got the break they were waiting for. Now it is time for the 1.0.2 users to not get caught up in the hype. Your patience will be rewarded with a simple and proven process. Remember 1.1.1 is nice, but not earthshattering enough to risk what you already have. If you are comfortable in Jailbreaking and know what you are doing, go for it. If you are not sure about ANYTHING, just wait for the version that's so simple a caveman could do it.

Installer 3 works fine on my 1.0.2 iPhone with no sim hacks. At first, the screen said that it was optimized for 1.1.1 and after a few usages, that note went away. it is a different interface and I think it was needed for the long run when there are hundreds of apps. It might save some time from scrolling through the dictionaries. Other than that, you aren't missing much.

Hey I am a dumb ***** when it comes to computers. I can't even upload pics from a camera with out my kids help and after reading and research from this site I have been able to jailbreak my new 1.1.1 iphone and install many apps. I just installed installer 3.0 and had the home button not working problem then remebered I READ someone saying turn it off and on again. Well that worked. Great program and layout.
OK engough bragging but I have 2 questions. (yes I have looked for this and couldn't find). Has anyone been able to install BSD Subsystem? I try to instal but it never installs. The button turns to reinstall and seems to time out while downloading And; does the this new update allow my Iphone to make coffee at 4:30 am so I could get 5 more mins sleep. (last one was a joke I am happily retired at 37)Last edited by kndhadley; 10-20-2007 at 01:28 AM. Reason: Answered myself except BSD

I updated to 3.0b installer, sometimes it gets hung up on checking sources but other than that no issues. I went to installer and saw the update available, updated before reading about it. So now I guess I have to upgrade to 1.1.1 but it seems to be working ok ( if I uninstall it will the older version come back ?).
I love the new interface, will be very handy now that the iphone app world is going to explode even more. Great job NullriverI don't drink kool-Aid, I don't join cults.
This is why I break out in cold sweat going to Apple retail store.

i am on 1.0.2 and just updated the installer. it hangs every now and then checking sources, and doesn't back out with the home button.
I just turn it off and back on again,
and it works fine.
would be nice for a little better stability.

Installer app 2.63 has this ID: com.nullriver.iphone.Installer
The new Installer app 3.0 has this ID: com.apptapp.Installer
That would be the reason that it "could" move or disapear on your desktop / homescreen.
