Default Unlock 1.1.1 firmware FOR FREE AnySim 1.1
The Dev Team has released anysim 1.1 which unlocks both 1.1.1 and 1.0.2 iPhone firmware. Note it will not fix baseband issues caused by the old version combined with an upgrade. To repair your baseband please follow This for Windows and This for OSX.

    download anysim 1.1
    mirror for anysim

For all of you who have been holding off on paying iPhone SIM Free $60-$100, good news. The iPhone Dev Team has announced AnySIM 1.1. According to the announcement by netkas, the software has been tested with both 1.0.2 and 1.1.1. AnySIM offers a free unlocking solution for iPhone users and apparently, if I'm reading this correctly, does NOT fix baseband problems from earlier releases. This is meant for "virgin" locked phones only. Download your copy here. Be aware that as AnySIM works, it switches off your WiFi until you reboot. Also, this is NOT intended for phones that will be updated. Do not unlock 1.0.2 and then update to 1.1.1. Updating a locked 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 will relock your iPhone. The team is testing a 1.1.1 restore on 1.1.1 unlocks right now. Remember guys: although the software here has been tested to make sure it avoids corruption--it does not hurt NVRAM/seczone--it is very new and has not had a lot of field testing yet. Caveat hackteur.

The team is now working on finishing the iPhone revirginizer that will safely revert your iPhone to its shipped (locked) state. You like? Buy the guys a beer or something. Nazdrovyeh!

Update: The team says if you get a "failed to unlock" on 1.0.2, you're still probably unlocked. Reboot and give it a try.

No. You and I are on the same boat.
We need to have our phones place in a "virgin" state (restored to factory status) before trying to upgrade to 1.1.1. I suggest you wait for the Dev-Team's virgin tool which they are currently working on.

Waiting for a virgin tool now to 100% reflash my baseband and avoid the risk of me retarding my phone with 1.1.1

I'm going to phrase this for everyone, and I'm hoping a dev-team member or cash or pf can answer this for all of us:

I have a 1.0.2 anysim unlocked iphone. If I first follow the above guide to factory virginize my phone, can I then use anysim 1.1 to upgrade and unlock the 1.1.1 firmware?

Also, I am concerned about bypassing activation in 1.1.1 since i am on t-mobile and have no at&t account. Does this happen automatically with the new jailbreak?

for ppl with unlocked 1.0.2 phones i'd guess you need to downgrade your baseband
    http://modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9578
    then jailbreak up to 1.1.1
    http://modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9341
install anysim 1.1 and then unlock

Those without 1.0.2 locked phones you'd just need to jailbreak and unlock

And for those of us who have unlocked 1.0.2 and never made the mistake of upgrading to 1.1.1? We wait for the virginizer?

    Default Lockdownd
Do we need a modded lockdownd for 1.1.1 phones to inorder to make sure switching of SIMs does not cause relocking?

Also Cash is this order correct?

    1) Virginize iPhone using this
    2) Update to 1.1.1
    3) Activate 1.1.1 using New iNdependence 1.2.2
    4) Jailbreak using iNdependence 1.2.2
    5) Put AnySIM and run
    6) Reboot and enjoy

I have a question. My phone came with 1.0.2, and I unlocked it with Erica's Unlock.app (not AnySim).

What would happened if I updated to 1.1.1?
