We've partnered up with iPhoneLinux, and will be providing support for it as well as their other tools (iBooter). Look for iPhone Linux soon!

I thought this section was for modding on the linux, lol. Now I see that it is porting the linux os to the iphone not vice versa

This wouldn't work to my knowledge "running windows on iPhone". The goal here is to port over a linux os. To run windows on the iPhone we would need an x86 emulator. Emulators would make the whole point of porting over an os useless, not to mention slow. I think what we are trying to do is rewrite the os to conform to the phones architecture. No windows at this point

OMG! Now that is a good idea!
I couldn't be happier if they did this and still kept some way of using the .app file system.that would be cool if ubuntu mobile can run on the iphone. though i'm sure this is not possible or if so a long way.

Well right now it seems like there is nothing goin on, but it is to port linux over to the iphone, or rather create a totally new distro for it I guess.
