There is a working Linux port on th iPhone, happened a while ago, and it supported keyboard over serial via USB, but that's as far as it got, last I knew. However, Andriod may be a viable option, as it's designed for this kind of thing. I wonder how much I'd have to pay Apple and Google to develop it jointly. Linux is only a hop, skip, and a jump away from UNIX, in essence.

Thanks, I checked it out. That's really incredible. I still want to see Apple add some capacitive buttons on the bottom. One or two on each side. There's enough room for two on each side, and I'd like to see that. Especially if they were customizable. Or even if they were dedicated application buttons in iPhone OS, maybe settings, brightness, Safari, music? Sounds good.

Ya it runs awesome on my phone but just no cell network. WiFi and everything works with sound after about 10 recompiles and different combination's of openiboot and the kernel.
Can't wait for planetbeing to release the next package and have it fully working.

I'm a big noob when it comes to compiling and then trying to run. I'd rather wait for pre-compiled images for ipt2g or a cydia installer, maybe?

People have created distro's to run on everything else so why not an iPhone !!! I have to agree. It would be an awesome dual boot.
