iPhone Linux
Is this still going to happen, or is it a dead thought? I bricked my iPod Video trying to install it, so I wouldnt put it on my iPhone anyway. But still, a cool thing.

Its being worked on by the same guy developing WinPwn, so I think he is a bit more focused on WinPwn than iPhone Linux right now...

Drivers, drivers, drivers...
Well, this highly depends on a working kernel. If you can't find / make hardware drivers for the touchscreen / wireless modem / wifi, there is little point in developing a linux install. Don't forget that most of the slick UI was already written by Apple, and the source code isn't available. Recreating that with X.org may be tricky.

Linux ran great on my iPod Photo. It opened up a lot of functionality.
