Thread: Saving data cross-app

    Question Saving data cross-app
    Hi,

I have a question on application development and sdk constraints. I know that applications are sandboxed and are typically not allowed to write data in each others folders.
But it is clear that the iTunes application is able to save audio and video files into the built-in Music and Videos apps.

I'm wondering if some custom application (such as a browser) could also save audio and video files into both of those built-in apps.

    Anybody know if that's possible?

    Cheers,
    Julien

Not to the buitlt in music and video app. They use a hashed database and until the developer release the gremlin API for public use, no one has been able to do it with public code.

You can save files to applications file directories like VLC. Browse your User space in an app like iFunBox and when you know what it is, you can simply add files to the documents folder in there.
