Built in Fm transmitter?
I have found an FM Transmitter that is about 1.5mm thick by 7mm x 7mm. I believe It would fit in my 3g, but is it possible to solder it or even program the phone to accept it?

i havnt heard of that....
anywayz, as far as what ur talking about, there is no software support..meaning even if u do get it inside and connected to a power source, whats gonna run it? change frequencies ? unless its connected to the 30-pin dock connector and communicating with it, the only way i see this actually working is to cut a hole in the back of the case and control freq thru there..but that would be dumbLast edited by z3r01; 04-06-2010 at 07:13 PM.

it's built into the broadcom chip so only the software part is missing, maybe apple enables it with os 4.0

maybe, but it would probably get a ton of interference from all those flying pigs

If it is built in already built in, software would be possible. So why hasn't it been done? Seems like a great idea to me.
Why wait for apple, there are tons of brilliant devs who could prob figure it out,... I'm not a dev though.Last edited by Cocheese; 04-07-2010 at 11:50 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

it's impossible as theres not even a private framework or something for it, you would have to try to build all the stuff from the lowest level yourself

I really hope 4.0 enables it

The hardware is there. Just needs an exploit in software. Just like bluetooth..it is there but underused at present
