Help me please SSH!!!

Okay, first and foremost, i am sorry if this is answered somewhere, but i cannot find it, sorry for my language but i dont know what the **** to do!
alpine does not work for my password, some dumb **** spelt it alphine in another thread, not my mistake, ive serached everything, uninstalled all my ssh software twice, still, nothing, it says its an invalid password for root. alpine does not work, do i need to format my ipod? if so, im gonna be pissed, i just need help please.
