8 in the middle of all my numbers? iPhone 2G
I got this phone recently and im still learning.I Just know its unlocked and jail broken.
The thing is, everywhere theres a number, like my clock and tracks. In the middle would be a square 8. Like it would be 2:17pm. The 8 would be RIGHT over the 1...same goes for track listings.
What is this and how can i remove it?

First you get a camera....jkjk...just press the home and sleep buttons at the same time for lk 1 sec....it'll make a camera sound and it'll store it in your photos....just make it do whatever the problem is and press both

Alright.......
1) Do you have SBSettings installed?
2) Do you have any apps installed that use the Status Bar regularly to display information?
I've never seen this before but if you have sbsettings installed I can guess what's wrongThe Next Generation of Phreaks.

swipe your finger on the status bar a couple times and see if a menu falls down.....it doesn't have an app and since it sounds like you just got this phone I wanna make sure it isn't installed without you knowing...

before i do that, since i need to upgrade to 3.1.2. Will that be a smart move or should i keep my 3.0.1? And if i do jailbreak, can you point me in the right direction to reunlock and rejailbreak? All the programs ive downloaded so far off this website likes to crash on me...and i dont want to ruin this phone since i just got it.

yea...update to 3.1.2 ....you can take your chances and download blackra1n from Welcome to BLACKWEATHER.COM it's the easiest break ever but sometimes it has little bugs on 2g iPhones...I recommend PwnageTool for iPhone 2g.....you can't ruin the phone, i promise even if you use blackra1n you can't ruin it....everything can be fixed with a simple Restore....
