Developing iPhone apps
I've been wanting to create iPhone apps for a while now and just recently have enough free time to start studying and learning about becoming an iPhone developer. I don't want to fork over $99 to watch the getting started videos on Apples website or anything. I've downloaded the iPhone SDK and have been messing around with it for a couple days now. My question is what programming knowledge do I need to create apps? The only coding I know is HTML which I learned in high school. Also if anyone could recommend any books or website to help that would be great. Any help would be appreciated.

There are some good posts in this forum already about this.
Aaron Hillegass's Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X is always recommended for good background, though it is a bit deeper than needed now with iPhone specific books available.
Erica Sadun's iPhone Developer's Cookbook is good, a new edition is coming out. Jonathan Zdziarski's book iPhone SDK Development would be a good choice as well.
Also, I though you could access plenty of documentation with the free registration as well as download the SDK. The $99 is only needed to distribute in the App Store.
