A Big Idea!

Hello everyone.
Today I had a brainwave.

They are solutions to problems. I may not be the first to think of this but I am trying to take action.

The Problems

There are two problems with the themes on ModMyi and Macciti today.

The first is that no matter how hard we try, there will never (in theory) be a theme with every icon, because new apps appear faster than we can make them INDIVIDUALLY and because of the very high quality icons they take up a lot of space and a lot of time to download.

The second is that none of the creative 'iNav inspired' themes on MacCiti are similar. By similar I mean that because of the complicated iBlanks and Categories, it can take up to an hour just to change between these cool themes even when using SpringBack, which saves your springboard arrangement.

The Solutions

The icon problem can be solved if we all work together on a small amount of different iconsets. There should be easy to edit photoshop templates so everybody can help. And everybody will help because most iPhone users have an application that very few others have and there will be a gap that they can fill to make their springboard perfect. The icons also have to be relatively small files to save space and time downloading.

The other problem can be solved if we set a framework for themes to start with. What I mean by a framework is an arrangement of icons that we can all agree on and also set names for extra game/application folders. If this is done, we can change between each of these themes in the smallest amount of time possible.

So you have kindly read this. So you are wondering 'What should I do?'

Any ideas for frameworks or icons would be brilliant. The icons in the 'X' Theme are simple to make for even the brand new Photoshopper! To recap, frameworks are the arrangements of different types of apps, blanks, categories and springjumps.

There is now technology that has obsoleted the need for blanks. Look up Iconoclasm. It is a tweak that you can use to change the arrangements of your icons without the need for iBlanks! It is made by the creator of Five Column Spring Board and you can get it free easily(although I don't reccommend it) by googling it or searching on youtube.

You can get preset arrangements like:

I think you can also make your own by editing .plist files.
