    Default Rename apps?

Hey guys, I am new to these forums so hi to you all!

Now to my question: Is it possible to rename the apps on your iPhone? It would seem logical if such an app existed in Cydia but I am yet to find one.

    Thank you!

    Yea there is such app,

In cydia, search "rename" install it, and from that app you can rename any app you want

I haven't used it in a long time and not sure if it is still available buy there was an app in Cydia called, "Rename" that would accomplish this. Yup just checked and it's there.

I don't seem to have an app called rename!! Is there a special source I need to add?

    Thank you in advance!

PS: Is there any way to have a battery as the background picture when locked even when your device is not charging?

Thank you again for the fast replies

It should be in the ifoneguide source, which is already including in cydia.

Thank you, but I googled around a bit and found that I had to add the source http://iphone.org.hk/apt/.

Do you know about the lockscreen battery? If it's possible that is hehe

It's possible, but I don't know if it's been made.

Why not just use the percent battery on the status bar?!

Yes that does work too, thank you!

But I want to use something else than just a boring background picture in the locked mode :-(

can someone help me out here! I've tried for the past 2 hours to get the F1 2009 game to put the correct icon on it, and it wont do it!

I made sure the name is correct on the PNG file (it should be "F1 '09 Game", according to the instructions in the 1st page), and It still shows up with the default icon! WTF?!

can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've even gone to the directory in the phone via SSH (winSCP) and renamed it manually, and it still shows up incorrectly!

winSCP doesn't allow native names of certain characters, such as ">" or so, so it replaces them with %xx where xx is the ASCII code.

looks like F1 '09 Game is actually F1 09 Game!!

so the ’ is replaced by %92, so I need to somehow make sure that the file is transfered as is, and not with the ASCII conversion.

is there another SSH program for windows that doesn't do that? can I manually go into it (I tried via terminal and PUTTy, but the Glass Orb Color.theme shows up as NOT a directory!)

you could try using rename or rename II to change the name to something simpler. There is another SSH program called Cyberduck for windows and mac. Also, if you downloaded it with ********** or appcake, then it usually has a different name to the actual app. for example: Pocket God.ipa could be renamed, pocketgod09123crackedbyappcracker.ipa
