Video Recording, editing, and sending

Ok, so the new iPhone 3GS has a great interface for recording, editing, and sending your own made videos. Has ANYONE figured out how to alter OS 3.1 for the iPhone 3G to make it THINK that it can do the same exact thing? I'm not talking about creating a separate app, but enabling the built in features of OS 3.1 for the 3GS to work with the 3G??
