In the beta version, there was a way to unlock MMS for the 2g iPhone, is it still possible? I would really like it if I could do it

there is an utility app in cydia called ActivateMMS2G . .maybe that will help

Yes, it's been done already.
Do a search for it.
You can download it from Cydia "ActivateMMS2G", you may need to do some extra steps to fix image quality, but it's all explained in the forums.
