Need a little help-Recovery mode after failed update to 3.0 B4

Hey guys,

I have a Dev account, have upgraded from JB 2.2.1 to 3.0 B2 and B3. B3 ran pretty well on my iPhone 3G. Today I downloaded 3.0 B4 and I'm now stuck on the pink screen (recovery).
I tried at work, where possibly the iPhone server was being blocked, but now at home it's being seen as an iPhone in recovery and I get a series of error messages (most recently 1694).
I've upgraded to iTunes 8.2.
I don;t mind having to do a clean restore and update, but all I get now is a "can't restore" message.
I'd love a little help, please.
Thanks

Try to put your phone in dfu mode then restore. I don't have the link right off try to google it.

So I finally figured out what was going wrong.
Since I've never restored (since the upgrade to the Beta) I hadn't realized that you have to select the firmware you want to restore from. Once I stopped waiting for the magical restore fairy to appear, I simply CTRL+Restore and selected the 3.0 B4 firmware and everything went well. Long restore process though.

How did you upgrade to the beta then in the first place? you would have needed to shift+restore/update then too
