Apple Updates iTunes to 8.1.1:

Apple has released a new version update for iTunes today that brings the application up to version 8.1.1.
iTunes 8.1.1 adds support for renting HD movies and provides a number of bug fixes, including addressing issues with VoiceOver and syncing with iPhone or iPod touch.

iTunes 8.1 was released in early March and added a number of new features.

The update should be available in your Mac OS X Software Update.

Does this mean the songs will show up correctly on your iPhone?

I think this fixes the Beta 2 syncing issues where the device stops syncing but iTunes still shows it as syncing until it crashes. Haha.

That's the key question. It should not be a problem, since 8.1 didn't create any. But you never know. If there is a problem, people will report it soon

Thanks, I'll think i'll take the high road and leave it be till people are sure...its such a pain to go through the whole JB process because you update iTunes...

I had no problem restoring to custom firmware with 8.1.1 on a 2G iPhone. My custom ringtones worked as well, as did syncing. I then synced an already jailbroken 3G with no problem. Updated all guides to include this new version number...
