Ringer Switch App

I bought an OtterBox (defender series) for my iPhone 2G a while ago, and of course as you all know it has one inevitable flaw; the silent switch is covered up and inaccessible, unless you take the OtterBox completely off.
This wasn't very convenient for me because of school.

I've installed a toolchain on my iPhone and have begun to develop simple applications..

I will probably develop an application that simulates the switching of the physical ringer switch so that users do not have to set ringtones and message tones to a blank sound file.
So I'm curious if there is any demand for this type of utility/application for release.
I think the best way for me to view the demand for this kind of application is to Click Thanks. This way I can visually see the demand instead of going through all of the posts and tallying.
