Ohh, I'm sorry. I'm a little slow when it comes to things like this.

I don't want to sound like someone trying to get a pre-release, but if you need any help with beta testing your server or with anything else, let me know. I would be more than happy to help.

awesome! yeah no, sorry... and i dont mean to be a ****, i barely understand this myself so i think thats the big thing holding this project back is theres probably like 0.00002% of the people on this planet that know about this sort of thing lol

someone else has expressed interest in testing this over at the swirlyMMS forum, so i believe later on tonight ill try setup the server to run on their own. currently i had to basically open several terminal/ssh windows and connections to my web server and sit there and watch the output of each server (also because i wanted to test and debug)

but, ill go ahead and try and re-start all these servers and just run them in the background (which wont require me to be logged in or have multiple connections to run the servers)... i should be able to review errors via the logs afterwards

so yeah i mean id like to do some formal testing, however its highly likely that you will experience the same issues as me, as there is some basic disconnect between me, setting up the server, configuring the server, and getting it actually working for phone-to-phone

theres this mBuni mailing list im subscribed to, im sure i could ask a well poised question there i just wanna get my bearings first and make sure its not something im doing wrong... its just like... mBuni is crazy complicated and theres like 15 pages of information i gotta read to fully understand this

i think im gonna start sharing everything i know, all the links, all the settings, configs, etc.... i will likely be posting this info at my own little hack the iphone site, but yeah more info soon

alrightie, well... i wasnt planning on pseudo-launching my iphone hacking site for awhile, but apparently some people are already finding it somehow... so.. i guess it wont hurt, but i had posted a note literally minutes after getting the MMS server to work that has some insight into the actual log file showing the MMS working (for sending a MMS to a phone@carrier.com style recipient)

http://www.hackthe3g.com/mms-omg-omg-omg-mms

lol as you can tell by the URL and the title of the post, i was a little excited.

please note, this site is missing like so much its not even funny. most of the main menu links/icons dont work, as i havnt gotten around to finishing up this site, but whatevs im just providing this link for now as an insight into where i was at when i left off last with the MMS server

Send a message via MSN to iRick

I never got it to work because it would not log me into the mms server to send the message because MMS was not on my account. I attempt 7 different times to add it to my account with different excuses like I use my old razr sometimes but AT&T could not add the mms to my plan because it would not only interfere with the iPhones billing but it would also affect the data plan. They would even let me do pay per mms which was rediculous. However with a my tmobile sim card in it worked fine. So my point is that AT&T restricts iPhone users from having the MMS feature on their account at the same time that will enable them to use SwirlyMMS to it's potential. I have heard of some people having good luck with AT&T but hey everbody I know has email on their phone nowadays.

I own a 1st gen iPhone (not 3g), currently unlocked & jailbroken. My service provider is At&t and every time I call "Customer Service" to make a change or just confirm account information they've never been able to tell I'm using an iPhone (obviously I've never told 'em), but I think the matter that the phone's unlocked prevents them from identifying which device I'm using.

Basically my point is I don't understand why does everyone talks about problems with Swirly MMS b/c if they can't identify the device I'm currently using then I'm supposed to have access to MMS.

I have unlmtd internet access for $14.99 monthly (regular phone access, not PDA) and unlmtd messaging for $19.99, the IMEI registered on my account is from a black V3 I used to own.

I'd like to try using Swirly but I can't find what I have to type in to configure the App.
