What parts of the stack are your working on?
Any idea on what the chipset is capable of? ie: what parts of the BT stack are even supported and what are you focusing on? Just OBEX?
LMP ?
SDP ?
HCI ?
L2CAP ?
EL2CAP ?
SDP ?
RFCOMM ?
BNEP ?
AVCTP ?
AVDTP ?
PPP ?
TCP/IP/UDP ?
OBEX ?
WAE/WAP ?
It would be nice to have BT keyboard and peripherial support...

the problem is not the chip or porting over the bluetooth stack there... its more so writing the app that will hack into the key board that will allow bluetooth to talk to the key board... meaning we can get the stack... thats what we are doing ... the next issue i think is getting an app that can control the keyboard... this doesnt mean it wont happen, just means its a bit more difficult than what your just saying... we will mostlikley evetually have all of the missing 25, we just have to take it one at a time and first complete the server

This would be sweet if you could release the stack before Apple does in the new iPhone they are making. It is one of the few scraps they have left to offer to get people to buy into a new phone.

Of course
I was just wondering if the hardware was even capable of the protocols before someone spends time and effort developing software to integrate with the device.
Hmmm, so just hardware-wise, BT GPS should be possible too? Wow... if you guys open up BT communications to the core, I know alot of developers would be very interested in coding the apps needed. Good luck!
Just for kicks, here's some possible uses for BT I can see:
1. External Peripherals (Keyboard, Mouse, etc)
2. External GPS Devices!!
3. File transfers (iphone->iphone, iphone->pc, etc)
4. Stereo Headsets
Anyone got anymore?

Has any real progress been made to have this functional?
Any idea of when we could see this released? Even a general time frame would be great.

How about we stay on topic, and leave the "1337 8477135" for Counter Strike.

So, when all is said and done...how is this going to be released to the masses? Will there be a cost involved? Will it be compatible with all bluetooth programs on PCs?
-

it will most likely be downloadable through cydia and it will hopefully be like any other phone with fully functional bluetooth... that is our goal...
cost is a matter that has not been 100% addressed but from what we have disscussed it will be free but we will have a donations link on the appLast edited by cscho0415; 11-06-2008 at 02:04 PM. Reason: colour

I am a developer in this project, and i take great offence to people that say
"the project is in capable hands [after a stupid comment was made]"
want to know what I have accomplished?
well, i have been able to initialise bluetooth in objective-c, linking to apples private frameworks, through only reverse engineering, but your right - thats rubbish.
what about how I was able to talk in raw Host Controller Interface code, i.e. close to binary communications, using only POSIX functions that are available in any standard C library.
to do that i had to initialise the BlueCore6-ROM type integrated circuit found on the iPhone 3g over a UART transport, formulate HCI packets and read the response. if any one of the sceptics could do that then, by ALL means criticise.
Also, do i think this is possible? of course i do.
now, as for a resolution:
hereafter there will be no rubbish like "I'll beta test" or all family of comments starting with "i think this project..." neither anything about donating or the like.
I dont particularly want to hear it.
