It's so simple to do, you can do it yourself without the aid of a middleman.
With the use of the latest version of redsn0w and iTunes (and just calling or chatting with the pertinent info to AT&T), if you can jailbreak your phone, you can do this yourself.
Took me all but 10 minutes. I', unlocked, and will be selling my phone in the near future.
Most people who bought the first iPhone 4 on AT&T (and who kept it for the duration) should be off contract by now. There should be a lot of unlocked iPhone 4 for sale in the coming weeks once the new iPhone drops.

I'd be interested if you could do it for other carriers.
I live in the Dominican Republic and have a 4S locked with Claro! (America Movil). Would be willing to pay the $50.00 if you could unlock my phone.

Don't listen to the haters. $50 from a forum member is a decent deal. If i find a 4 on Craigslist at a reasonable price I'm going to remember this.

I've seen (and used) unlocks by reputable sellers for as cheap as $19.25 on eBay that work. Do your homework and deals can be had.

This is odd, I actually used it for a friend yesterday, got the email confirmation today. Updated 3Gs to 5.1.1 and now factory unlocked. $19.25, great deal.
